How to Make Safari Favors: Step by Step
Making Safari Party Favors at home is a great idea to bring the family together and get everyone to work! We’re going to teach you how to make Mickey’s Safari MDF box, but you can replace the customization of the lot with another pet you want to suit your party’s theme. You will need:
- MDF box with shoe cover with minimum measurements of 5x5x5
- Brown PVA Latex Paint (If there are a lot of souvenirs you can buy the paint at home for building materials. If it is up to 15 units you can buy a 300 ml jar in stationery which is enough).
- sandpaper wall
- Soft bristle brush
- Image of the personalization of the cover with the birthday person’s name, date and other details printed on photographic adhesive paper.
Let’s go step by step:
- Sand the boxes and lids to remove possible imperfections from the MDF.
- Clean the dust.
- Paint the boxes carefully so as not to leave a “drain” mark. Leave the top of the lid unpainted.
- Allow to dry for at least 4 hours.
- Note if you can see the natural color of the MDF. If so, you should apply another coat of paint and wait for it to dry.
- With the box painted and dry, it’s time to apply the personalization.
- Place the adhesive carefully so that it does not form bubbles.
- In case of bubbles, use the dryer at medium temperature to eliminate them.
- Ready! For an even more special touch, you can place sweets inside the box.
