Is CCSF still free?
City College of San Francisco offers an extensive schedule of day, evening and weekend noncredit classes. Classes are held at various CCSF locations and are all tuition-free.

- Students may qualify if they are both a California resident for one year & one day and a San Francisco resident.
- Students may qualify if they have a non-resident exemption (AB 540, AB 13, AB 2000, SB 68) and are a San Francisco resident.

The old-school rule is that a student should study two hours a week, outside of class, for each credit hour enrolled. For a student taking 15 credit hours, this indicates they should spend 30 hours studying, or a total of 45 hours per week focusing on class and studies.

Anyone 18 years or older can enroll in a noncredit class. Students may enroll in most classes by attending the first class meeting. Provided space is available, students may also enroll in most classes any time during the semester because these classes are open entry- open exit.
